Black Diamond Performance Brakes

Since their launch in 1992 the Black Diamond performance brake disc and pad range has gone from strength to strength. The first fast car test in 1995 in which black diamond was awarded the win against all the other major brands, it became clear that all the design and testing work prior to the launch was so very worth while. The 24 groove disc, the groove shape and profile and the post machining heat treatment all playing their part in making this product a world beater.

In 1996 Black Diamond were invited to take part in the first Max Power magazine awards test against all the other major world brands in the performance braking market, Black Diamond came out on top by such a huge margin that Max Power decided not to issue a second place prize! Our competitors were forced to wake up and in the next years awards we came equal first with another brand and in the next awards 1998 / 1999 after a Black Diamond pad compound tweak (Black Diamond Predator), Black Diamond won out right again and is still the current Max Power award holder. Now with over 1050 part numbers in the range we believe this to be the largest range of performance brakes in the world!

Black Diamond Brake Discs DIAMOND DISCS.

These award winning brake discs are made to the most exacting standards using computer aided design and computerised production whether you buy a Diamond X Drilled range for extra cooling, Diamond 12 Groove range for more instant response and greater friction or Diamonds award winning Combination range for extra cooling, extra friction and instant response you will always get Diamonds unique compound and extra heat treatment to provide you with awesome braking performance.
Black diamond offer the following options for front discs and in most cases rear discs of Grooved, Drilled and Combi, which are a combination of Grooved and the Drilled disc.

Black Diamond Brake Pads

An ultra low dust high friction, high temperature compound with a heat transfer layer next to the backing plate to transfer heat away from the disc and pad enabling operating temperatures of slightly over 520deg with no fade at all. Black Diamond predator pads complement the black diamond disc range perfectly or if you wish you can gain extra braking performance by using the black diamond predator pads on their own with standard discs. We are currently testing a Black Diamond track racing pad compound please keep watching this web site for updates.

Tar-ox Track day package (Discs & Pads)

The TAR-OX  F2000 disc is recognised by its multiple curled  grooves on the
braking surface of the discs. The grooves are designed to generate a turbine effect which dissipates heat build up, allowing the discs to run cooler
reducing the possibility of warping, vibration or cracking. All F2000 discs
are heat treated for strength, hand finished to ensure the smoothest
possible braking surface and TÜV approved.

The high friction TAR-OX  Corsa (50µ) pads are aptly after the Italian word for race - "Corsa" Although primarily intended for race and for track day
use, the Corsa `pads are also suitable for fast road use and offer smooth
operations at any pace. Corsa pads are effective from cold and therefore
give maximum performance at all temperatures and their unique compound will also help to minimise disc wear.

Currently one application, Honda Civic Type R (EP3) Front kit

Stainless Steel Brake Lines

As a direct replacement all 4 complete hoses are replaces to improve braking response under extreme conditions. Using TUV approved parts Braided stainless steel brake lines replace the OE components.
These replacement brake lines can dramatically improve braking performance

Motul 5.1 Brake Fluid

A long lasting 100% synthetic fluid based on polyglycols and specially suited to anti-lock brake systems (ABS). Its very high wet boiling point (185 c) allows the product to be used for longer periods. Its viscosity remains completely neutral in relation to the gaskets used in such braking systems. Anti corrosion. Dry boiling point: 265 C/509 F. FMVSS 116 DOT 5.1 Non-Silicon base DOT& DOT4 DOT3. SAE j 1703/ISO 4925.
