HKS Spark Plugs
HKS Super Fire Racing spark plugs are high performance Iridium plugs
designed to handle advanced levels of tuning and still offer easy start-up
and smooth idling. By utilizing a 0.4mm diameter Iridium plug electrode core
and a U-shaped grooved electrode, lower voltage is required for spark to
occur. This delivers a stronger ignition spark, stable idle, and reduces the
likelihood of misfire during high boost.
The Iridium alloy is used because of its durability and reliability. On an
average plug, a narrow core typically shortens life span of plug but with
the intense durability of iridium there is no sacrifice in any longevity.
With a high melting point of 2454 degrees C, opposed to the 1769 degrees C
of white gold, the electrode can tolerate the high levels of compression and
minor knocking without any deterioration. A nickel coating on the housing
also prevents the spark plug from premature deterioration. The Iridium
plugs are available for multiple applications and offered in "colder" heat
ranges of 7 and up and specifically for rotary, heat ranges of 9 and up are
offered.

HKS Adjustable Cam Gears
HKS Adjustable Cam Gears allow fine tuning of the camshaft timing to
maximize engine performance and tailor power characteristics for various
driving conditions. Either with OEM or HKS Camshafts, adjustments can be
made to tune an engine's power band to the optimum RPM range for a
particular application. HKS Cam Gears are made completely of anodized
Duralumin with nickel plated gear teeth except for applications with timing
chains which utilize an aluminium slide with steel teeth.
HKS engineers chose Duralumin as the core material for HKS Cam Gears because
its lightweight properties decrease drag on the engine. Precise valve timing
can be adjusted and set within the range of ± 20° along a Vernier scale of
2° intervals. Each interval index is laser-etched into the Duralumin and "A"
(advance) and "R" (retard) directional markers are also laser-etched on to
the cam gear face.

HKS Valve Springs
HKS valve springs are stiffer springs specifically designed for use with HKS
camshafts. As valve train dynamics change with the use of high performance
cam profiles and greater lift, stiffer valve springs are needed to optimize
valve movement. When changing to a high lift cam, stock springs cannot match
the increased valve train movement. Therefore HKS engineered valve springs
that are precisely matched to the characteristics of HKS camshafts.
A stringent shot-peening and heat treatment process is applied to the HKS
valve springs to provide durable and consistent spring rates over time.
Applications with high revving engines will benefit from HKS valve springs,
as the risk of valve-float and coil-bind is greatly reduced due to their
specific design and construction.

HKS Cam shafts
HKS high performance camshafts are CAD designed to optimize torque and
horsepower over the widest possible power band. Each camshaft application is
offered in multiple profiles, each with their own lift & duration
characteristics to suit various levels of tuning. Lower profiles offer
substantial gains in power and a broad useable power band with little
compromise in drivability. Higher profiles offer greater increases in power,
but are tailored for the higher RPM range and racing pplications.
HKS camshafts are not reground OEM units; they are machined from new billet
cores which are constructed from a high nickel content iron alloy. By
manufacturing all camshafts from billet cores, HKS is able to produce
camshafts that equal or exceed the quality of the OEM units they are
designed to replace. HKS camshafts are direct replacements and are designed
to be compatible with the factory valve train components. However, due to
the higher profile of HKS camshafts, HKS high performance valve springs are
highly recommended, and required in certain applications.

HKS Head Gaskets
HKS metal head gaskets are engineered to resist severe levels of heat that
are generated by high-horsepower and high-boost applications. All HKS head
gaskets are constructed with multiple layers of steel and coated with a
special fluorine rubber to provide exceptional sealing. HKS head gaskets are
designed to accommodate standard and certain oversized cylinder bores.
For most applications, multiple gasket thicknesses are available to change
the dynamic compression ratio for various levels of tuning and engine
conditions. (Note: HKS gaskets are not designed to cure sealing problems
caused by head or block irregularities.)

 |
The HKS Stopper-Type gasket consists of the maximum layers of plates
possible and utilizes a moulded stopper ring around each combustion chamber
opening. |
 |
The HKS Bead-Type gasket features a raised bead structure around each
combustion chamber to ensure a precise seal. |
 |
The HKS Grommet-Type Gasket employs a metal grommet around each combustion
chamber, to ensure an excellent seal between the cylinder head and the
engine block. |

HKS Piston Kits
HKS forged aluminium pistons are complete sets including piston rings, wrist
pins and retaining clips. Piston sets are available in standard cylinder
bore size, as well as factory recommend over-bore sizes. The surfaces and
top ring lands of HKS pistons are nickel plated and highly resistant to
damage due to abnormal combustion.
